Protecting your personal information
The Northumberland National Bank takes your privacy very seriously and is committed to helping you protect your personal information.
Your financial security is our top priority, which is why we take extensive measures to protect your money and personal data. While it's our responsibility to protect your financial information, it's important to remember you are your own best line of defense.
Fraud can happen to anyone, and we want to ensure you know how to protect yourself and your personal information. Here are some tips on ways to protect yourself.
- Monitor your account(s) regularly. Set up account alerts in your online banking and/or mobile app. You can also turn your debit card on and off with the Guard My Card feature.
- Use strong, unique passwords. Experts recommend using a different password for each of your online accounts. Avoid using numbers and letters in a sequence (for example: password1234). We also recommend that you change your password regularly for your protection.
- Turn on automatic updates for your mobile app. This will ensure that you have the latest features and security enhancements on your device.
A reminder that Norry Bank staff will never call, text or email you to ask for your account number, debit card PIN, password or other personal details.
If you question the legitimacy of a telephone or email request for your personal or financial information by a person claiming to represent Norry Bank, do not give out the information. Contact the bank at 888-877-6623 to verify if the call was initiated by a bank representative. Do not disclose information such as address, mother’s maiden name, Social Security number, bank account number, etc.
If you think you've been a victim of identity theft or a scam; or if your debit card has been lost, stolen or damaged, please reach out to us immediately.
